Ok, So I didn't get to go to the zoo yet...because they apparently only do the free thing in the afternoon and we went in the morning, and decided we didn't have time to come back in the afternoon...so I guess I'll have to wait a while longer before I can see the animals...
anyhoo...I'm just avoiding homework at this point...but things are good...

Ok, I didn't get rid of my xanga...I'm just not ready to let go of it yet! Pretty soon though, I know I will be too busy to keep up with it...so...I don't know. I want to write an update now while I have the time before my life gets too crazy!! Ok so here's the update of what my life has been like since graduation...
(side note: graduation week was amazing and I miss everyone so much it hurts!! It all happened so fast!)
ok so, I was at home for about 2 and half weeks..I basically sat on my bum the whole time recovering from my horrid sinus infection that I got during graduation week and it never went away!!  I finally got a car! A 1999 Honda civic! which was a freakin miracle and my parents are amazing for helping me with that!!
Ok so on May 31st it was time to drive to Memphis to start my graduate program at Christian Brothers University (LANCE) where I will teach and take classes for two years and get a Masters in teaching. (It's based off ACE if anyone knows what that is) It's a volunteer type program, so I get my masters payed for while living in a community house with fellow teachers and making just enough money to get by! Well, the day i was supposed to leave, I was deathly ill, my mom had to take me to the clinic one more time and I got another round of antibiotics...so we didn't leave as early as we should have that day. We made it to Memphis just barely on time...when we finally found campus and found someone to help us, I found out that the program wasn't expecting me!!!! They apparently got me confused with some other girl who sent an email saying she wasn't coming. (this is why I hate having such a common name by the way) anyway...my parents, who were supposed to drive right back home, had to get a hotel and we stayed there for the night while the director of the program worked out my problem. They called me and said I still had a position at the school I was placed in, and so the next morning....after a sleepless, agonizing night where I reevaluated my entire life plans for the next two years, I decided to stick it out, even though I was really nervous and scarred by the problems that occurred. Once I met everyone they seemed really nice. We had an orientation retreat type thing the whole weekend and started classes on that Monday.
So far I love Memphis! It's a slightly big, very dangerous city, and I don't know my way around yet..but I am getting used to it. I love all the things there are to do here. I've already hung out on Beale Street, and seen the Civil Rights Museum, and driven by Graceland! (my school I'm teaching at is near Graceland!)
Classes have not gotten busy yet...this is the second full week of classes and I'm starting to build up some homework, but I like the classes.
Hopefully, tomorrow I get to go to the Memphis zoo for free with my student ID! and I hope to meet up with my principal soon so I know exactly what I'll be teaching and how many classes...I'm terrified and excited all at the same time. Home is never too far though, so that is good.
well there you go, that is pretty much what life has been for me so far this June...well shall see what the future holds for me here...

Ok, so I realize that it is really hard for me to let go of my xanga cause I've had it for soooooooo long...geez...I was just a kid when I started this thing!! Now I'm almost a college grad! oh man... so this week has been nothing but me freaking out about everything that comes after May 13th. It's so surreal....
I was in St Joe's for the last 9pm mass and they blessed the seniors and I balled like a baby! It was at that official moment I realized what this place has done for me....and I'm grateful for it.
Ok..enough nostalgia...I can only take so much at a time before I become a complete wreck!
So....in other news my last exam is tomorrow morning yay!! then I'll think I'll take my last trip to the beach while I am in Mobile...cause I am going to miss living so close to the water....cause I loooove the beach and the water and I can't picture myself ever being too far away from it...

at least Memphis is only 7ish hours away right?

Moment of randomness: I have a tickle in my throat....which I hope doesn't mean I will sick for graduation...that would suck a lot.

future! here I come!

Hey dudes,
Well, I probably should go ahead and end my days with xanga...
Graduation is looming closer and soon I will be teaching high school so I figured I should close out my xanga cause I really won't have time for it and I don't want my high schoolers looking at it..
but most people can still keep in touch with me through facebook and myspace cause I will keep those!

Thanks!!

love ya!

Katie

Happy Mardi Gras!
Classes are taking every bit of my attention and energy to get through, so the few days I have off this coming week are much needed and will actually help me get caught up in work...I wish I was going home though. thank the lord I don't have too many other commitments to worry about right now. I guess that is the nice thing about the last semester...you finally have less obligations so you can worry about preparing for the future...which is what I am trying my hardest to do!

I have an phone interview with LANCE (in Memphis)  on Monday morning so wish me luck...eeek! I am actually trying to be a teacher!
